Slip 'N Slide

One of the great (and not so great) things about our apartments is all the kids.  Most of the time it is fun having lots of kids around to play with, but there are some times when the kids around here are not so nice, and they do thinks I don't want my kids picking up on.
However on Saturday it was very hot.  And so one of the moms of a couple boys, ages 7 and 9 I think, brought out her boys new "Slip 'N Slide" to share with everyone.
Malaki and Lillie were inside watching a movie and having some juice when she brought it out, and we watched fascinated from the window for a few minutes.  Then Malaki said he wanted to go outside.... so I told them to get their swim suits on first and that I would go out with them.
It took awhile for either of them to be willing to try it, in spite of a couple slightly older children, whom Malaki calls "my friens", cheering them on and telling them they could have a turn.  I finally held Lillie's hand and ran next to her, she hit the first spray of water and ran away.  We did this a couple times, but she never really got in to the whole thing.  She preferred sitting on the side lines watching, and putting her hand in the water every once in awhile.
Malaki on the other hand, went next to me once, I just ran beside him, when he hit the "slide" he slipped and slid a little, thus the name I suppose.  I thought that would be it for him, that he would hate it... but I was wrong.  He spent about an hour waiting in line with the other kids and eagerly taking his turn when it cam around.  Only stopping when it was time to pack it up and put it away...
So here are some pictures of my almost 4 year old being all grown up and playing with the big kids, and having a BLAST!
Sorry about the video, for some reason my camera decide to record like it was on speed or something....

These shots were taken from 3 or 4 runs down the slide.
Malaki gets water in the face
He could slide down the whole thing, so he slid, and then got up and slid again till he reached the end.
The "pool" at the end!  Go Malaki!!
Malaki is telling me what he did and showing me "I did like this mom and so fast!"

Lillie, just getting a tan...
Again, don't know why it recorded in hyper speed, but gives you a good idea of how much fun he had!
